Ancient water trapped inside an Amethyst crystal! This amazing mineral specimen comes from Veracruz, Mexico. It contains an inclusion of ancient liquids and gases sometimes referred to as Enhydros or Fluid Inclusions. Fluid and air became trapped inside the crystal as it was growing. When tilted back and forth you can see the gas bubble move inside the liquid trapped within the cavity.
Geologists can study these inclusions to determine what depth, temperature and pressure in which the minerals developed, giving us valuable information into the geologic environment where they formed.
This specimen features an Enhydro, along with a partial skeletal growth structure to the crystal. It has a lovely purple hue and glassy luster.
The crystal will come with the Enhydro circled with marker which can easily be removed with a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a paper towel or Q-tip. We do this to ensure you can easily identify the bubbles at first glance!
Approx. 3.25" H x 2" W x 1.75" Deep
