Large Snow-capped Quartz with Amethyst

This impressive large "snow-capped" Amethyst crystal comes from the Karur region of India. This vivid, deep purple Amethyst crystal is topped with a layer of white Quartz, creating a stunning crystal combination that resembles a snow-covered mountain peak.

This crystal is notable for its remarkable size and exceptional quality, making it a rare discovery from this area. Typically, this variety of Amethyst is cut into cabochons for use in jewelry due to its unique cross-sectional color zoning (see photo). Finding an uncut specimen of this caliber is truly extraordinary. When illuminated from behind, the crystal exhibits a beautiful purple glow.
