The "Star" of your fossil collection! A beautiful fossilized sand dollar / echinoid from the D’Angers Region of France. Echiniods are echinoderms, (ex. sea urchins, sand dollars etc.) that had a long geologic run from the Ordovician to present day. Sand Dollars in particular ran from the early Jurassic to present day. This lovely fossil is from the Miocene Epoch and is approx. 23 million years old. Incredible detail can be seen on the main star along with lovely patterns surrounding the center. It sits in a limestone shell matrix.
