Did you know that rocks could fly? Well this one did! This “Volcanic Bomb” literally flew through the air after getting blasted from a volcano! What makes these stones so special are the gorgeous green crystals found inside. This mineral called Olivine (gem name Peridot) forms at some of the hottest temperatures inside our Earth. During explosive volcanic eruptions, this material sometimes gets ejected from the volcano. As it flys through the air, it twists and cools creating some amazing laminations. Once found, these rocks are cut in half to display the incredible crystals inside.
Discovered in the Llémena Valley, Girona Province, Catalonia, N.E. Spain.
Each Side Approx. 3" L x 1.6" H x 1.25" Deep
