Gaze into the glittering beauty of this amazing Quartz and Chalcedony Geode from Dugway, Utah. This large Geode has a sparkling center filled with drusy Quartz crystals. Blue, gray and lavender bands of Chalcedony perfectly line the rim of the geode.
Dugway Geodes as they are sometimes referred to, come from ancient volcanic deposits found in western Utah near the town of Dugway. The layered bands are formed from Chalcedony and Agate, with the center of the Geodes filled with Quartz crystals. The crystals form in a Rhyolite rock matrix. The front of this piece has been cut and polished to a high gloss finish, while the sides and exterior have been left in the stones natural state.
