Red Calcite with Mesolite Inclusions

A true geologic rarity, this incredible crystal specimen of pink raspberry Calcite with Mesolite comes from Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, India. What makes this specimen so unique is both the color of the Calcite and the Mesolite crystal inclusions which can be seen both on the interior and exterior of the specimen. These crystals were mined from a very limited discovery in late 2023.

Sometimes referred to as "Indian Rhodo" in allusion to it's color similarity to Rhodochrosite, or raspberry Calcite, the color is truly spectacular with highly saturated pinks and reds, contrasted with bright white Mesolite crystal starbursts. Through the front of the Calcite crystal, you can see the Mesolite crystals appearing as almost an orange hue through the primary crystal.
