Beautiful blue blades of Kyanite crystals from the famous Minas Gerais region of Brazil. Kyanite forms within metamorphic rocks undergoing high heats and pressures within the Earth. This mineral is easily identified by its long and pronounced crystal blades and distinct blue color. Sometimes under strain between rock layers, the crystals formed into natural swooping shapes like those seen here. This piece also contains some small root-beer colored Staurolite on the back!
